Recently, we particapted at the South Knoll Elementary School’s Open House. This was an event to foster parent-teacher partnerships. The goal of this partnership was, as always, to help students succeed. In this case, parents were informed about things that they could do to help their child develop literacy and knowledge in other content areas. In order to allow the parents the opportunity to fully focus, we took care of all the children! We had the honor of caring for and keeping busy all the students (and their siblings).
BESO members learned that it is important to facilitate a one-on-one interaction between teachers and parents. Sometimes those interactions are difficult to come by. And sometimes those interactions are not free from distractions. This was an excellent event that ensured that teachers could communicate effectively with parents. It was great that the parents obtained information and resources that they needed to benefit their children.
